Once again: we are “together in our grief and united in our resolve.”
As Humanity deals with the inhumane attacks on Paris we first extend our sympathy to the victims and look to the principles of justice for resolution.
There is no gain for the perpetrators in attacking civilians except in their own warped logic. Humanity has never succumbed to bullying. Our fear is the fear of engagement using a similar approach.
The reaction in Paris has already shown our resolve. Taxis have turned off their meters, people sang the National Anthem on the way out of the bombed stadium and Parisiens have started “porte ouverte”, “open doors”, for their citizens who are concerned about making it to their homes.
The end never justifies this kind of action.
Humanist Canada remains “united in our resolve.”
