Sharing the Truth. Breaking the Science.

Choice Chat is a podcast from the Morgentaler Committee of Humanist Canada. We explore the personal and political aspects of abortion, human reproduction and sexual health in Canada. We believe reproductive health and rights should be talked about—openly, honestly, and without shame. This podcast is where truth-telling and real conversations take centre stage.

Choice Chat exist to:

  • Elevate voices that often go unheard.
  • Reduce stigma and increase empathy.
  • Promote a culture of respect for bodily autonomy and informed choice.
  • Help listeners feel supported, educated, and inspired.

We’re challenging harmful narratives, sharing powerful stories, and shifting the conversation away from abstract debate, to centre the lived realities of those affected. This is about truth, dignity, and the right to decide. Because informed choice is a human right. Telling the truth is an act of resistance—and this podcast is part of the fight to protect it.

Season One: On Now

In season one, we’re chatting about all things abortion. From expert insights to personal stories, we’re helping to break the silence on this deeply personal–and often politicized–matter.

Episode 3: Beyond the Procedure: What Does an Abortion Doula Do?

Abortion is often discussed in political or clinical terms, but rarely as the deeply human experience it truly is. In this third episode of Choice Chat’s Beyond the Procedure series, host Tara speaks with Rae Jardine, Julie Vautour, and Mel Fuller about the vital role of abortion doulas.
From offering logistical help and emotional support to filling critical gaps in Canada’s healthcare system, abortion doulas remind us that abortion is not a debate topic — it is healthcare, and it is about real people making real choices. This thoughtful conversation sheds light on the compassion, advocacy, and community that surround abortion care.
Listen now and share to keep the conversation going.
