We support the efforts of Humanists and Humanism-focused organizations in Canada and encourage such groups to affiliate with us – we all have much to learn about serving Humanists and we support each other’s efforts in promoting Humanism initiatives.

Humanist Canada Affiliate Program

Affiliates are humanist, secular, and critical thinking groups that have their own organizational and governance structure. If you are an established organization that shares our values and would like to form part of our network while maintaining your unique identity, we encourage you to become an HC Affiliate.

As an Affiliate of HC, your organization will have determined its own principles of governance and financial accountability as well as its leadership and membership structure. Affiliate groups are autonomous organizations that maintain their own membership, governance, and in some cases, their own charitable registration.

The partnership between HC and an Affiliate group is mutually beneficial because it allows us to unite around a common vision and expand our reach. It is also a great way to exchange ideas, share resources, and support each other in advocacy efforts.

The Affiliate will have no legal recourse against HC for the rejection of its Affiliate status. Without limiting the right to reject any application for any reason whatsoever in the Owner’s absolute discretion, the Recipient application will be rejected if it is non complete, if the Recipient’s website contains images or content that is not acceptable to Owner or is inconsistent with the image that the Owner wishes to create in association with its website, or if the Recipient’s website contains any illegal, immoral, repulsive, defamatory, derogatory, harassing, harmful, threatening, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, racial or ethnic objectionable materials, depicts sexual situations, promotes discrimination on the basis of race, sex, sexual preference, national origin, ethnicity, nationality, disability, religious preference, or if the Recipient’s site contains any material that appears to Owner to violate any patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, confidential information, or other property rights of any other party.
