Jackie is a Humanist Canada Officiant and a semi-retired physician in Guelph, Ontario. She currently works part-time as a MAiD assessor and provider, describing it as “the most rewarding thing I have done in my entire career.” A lifelong Humanist (though she didn’t know it until recently), Jackie became an Officiant in 2023.

She believes the path to a better world lies in advancing a secular, evidence-based vision grounded in critical thinking. At a time when misinformation and intimidation threaten reasoned dialogue, Jackie is committed to fostering curiosity, scientific literacy, and ethical reflection to build a more compassionate, rational future—one conversation at a time.
