Hello! My name is Mark Slater - I am a proud member of Humanist Canada, and a licensed Officiant based in Ottawa, Ontario.

I became an Officiant to marry my friends (to each other), but the bottom line is, I genuinely love love. Now that I have the power, I'm here to marry everyone!

Humanism, to me, is "good without the god." It's a belief system, independent from religion or spirituality, that seeks to proliferate the most basic, positive human qualities and values. It promotes kindness, acceptance, empathy, and equality, and seeks to to treat all individuals with dignity and respect without supernatural interference or influence. Humanism places humanity at the center of its values, and asserts that we as humans should seek to help each other achieve meaningful lives, simply because it is the right thing to do. Basically, be excellent to each other.

I am happy to provide a range of services, including:
- Meeting to discuss your ideas for your ideal ceremony
- Participation & communication to craft a ceremony that reflects your unique personalities
- A complete and approved ceremony
- Completion and submission of all paperwork to Service Ontario, and most importantly,
- Officiating your wedding
